My mom detests Split Levels, and in most homes I don’t like them either. The last thing I want to have to do when I open my home’s front door is be instantly faced with more choices… up or down.  And unless the landing when you open the front door is large, open and free of clutter you can experience an insist feel of suffocation when compared to so many of the homes today that have a high ceilings and an inviting feel.  However, more people are asking for that basement, usually for growing teens and/or a game room and the slit level offers just that.
