This weekend marks the 14th year of the Art In The Pearl arts festival, bringing fine art competitions, live music, theater, hands-on creative activities for the whole family, and fantastic food to the Park Blocks in the Pearl in Northwest Portland . From September 4th to September 6th, this world-famous arts festival is the best place to buy that perfect piece of art for your home, as over 1oo artists will be showing and selling their creations. We’ve heard stories of people considering moving to Portland after falling in love with the art scene thanks to this festival, and buying a home in Portland to fill with such amazing art.
You’ll find so many kinds of art, from paintings and photography to glass, wooden furniture, clay dishware, metal masterpieces, gorgeous jewelry and a whole lot more. Even if you’re not looking to buy, come out and spend the day enjoying the end of Portland summer, catch a show at the new World Music Stage, and take your whole family to the education pavilion to try your hand at art activities for kids and adults alike. In true Portland style, great food will be available all weekend! Check out the food vendors scheduled for this year here. You can find the schedule for the music stage here. Don’t miss your opportunity to experience live Cuban Jazz, Irish and Cajun music, Nigerian drummers, Turkish and Arabic dance and beats, Mexican singers, Japanese koto and violin players, American roots music, Quebec and appalachian performers, and so much more. It looks like its going to be a great weekend!
