Northwest Portland’s Nob Hill neighborhood is ringing in the holidays this Saturday with open houses, sales and entertainment. Holidays in Nob Hill will take place throughout the day on Saturday, Dec. 10 on Northwest 21st and 23rd avenues. From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Santa will be at HomeStreet Bank, 22 N.W. 23rd Ave., and free photos will be taken.
Nob Hill is a sophisticated yet trendy neighborhood surrounding the very popular NW 21st and Northwest 23rd Streets. It is included in the Northwest District (which encompasses the Alphabet Historic District) and is connected to the Pearl District, the Downtown Cultural District, Portland State University and the South Waterfront area by the 4.8-mile loop of the Portland Streetcar system. Similar to its sister neighborhood, the original Nob Hill in San Francisco, the narrow streets are lined with turn-of-the-century Victorian houses, some of which have been turned into artsy shops, trendy clothing boutiques and locally-owned book stores.
