Located in southeast Portland, the Laurelhurst neighborhood is one of the most charming in all of Portland.
With much of the area once owned by William S. Ladd, a prominent farmer and Portlander of the late 1800’s, walking through the neighborhood today you can almost taste the history, what with the tent of trees that surrounds you and the peace offered by the 32-acre Laurelhurst Park. Many of the homes in the area date back to the early 1900’s, and styles range from the mansion to the bungalow, and everything in between.
Quick Tips:
- Laurelhurst Park, a 32-acre green space preserved from the late 1800’s, offers a chance to bike, jog, picnic, play soccer, or just relax.
- What with wide sidewalks and quaint streetlamps, strolling through Laurelhurst may just leave you strolling into days past.
- Rather than being interspersed with businesses, the Laurelhurst neighborhood remains strictly for the home—and, thanks to that, remains relaxed, easy-going, and peaceful.
