Hmmm. The Street of Dreams, aye?

We visited the Street of Dreams again this year. The homes were amazing of course but the planning of the event as well as the planning of the location of the homes left us a bit baffled.  My husband and I both being real estate agents decided to tour on “Realtor Day”, we took our 9 year old daughter making it a family event. We were there before it started and were startled by a line that reminded me of Disneyland in June; and there was no one coordinating the front of the line where the only two (short) buses picked people up to take them to the event.  The lack of organization, lack of transportation combined with several aggressively rude agents was a vision only to be seen in the likes of a burning building with only one exit…. this combination resulted in agents just about trampling over each other to get to the bus every 15 minutes.  Only high heels prevented them from jumping on the hood and back bumpers.

Inspite of the drama getting to the Street of Dreams, the homes were amazing and worth the trouble of getting there. The views are breathtaking and the way outdoor patio living is incorporated into the everyday lifestyle of the home is creatively done. However, knowing that homes from previous years aren’t selling, I was surprised to see that these were built directly under the cell phone towers on Mt. Scott. In addition to that, with all the amazing space in these homes to entertain I was left wondering where all the guests would park as there is a very small road, no roadside parking and no through streets.

Inspite of all this, the builders did a fantastic job…. take an umbrella incase it rains and a taser to protect yourself in the case the bus loading is unsupervised!
