There for a while agents were angry… (those that noticed anyway)… Clackamas County decided to take Fridays off and go with a 4 day work week. Why would this effect agents, home buyers and sellers?… We depend on the county
of the listed property to “record” the transaction before the keys can be handed to the new owner… with the county being closed on Fridays, we were left to scramble as needed to close by Thursday or have to wait through the weekend (when most people like to celebrate and or move) until Monday. Friday is one of the busiest days for homes to close… (Personally I like to close on a Wednesday or Thursday in case there are delays but having only a 4 day work week really tightened things up.)
Well it seems that after a huge outcry, the county recorder office has decided to remain open on Fridays. Most of the county’s four-day week will remain but the recording office is open for business!
Ya know, the county going on a 4 day work week annoyed me somehow; maybe I wouldn’t be so opposed if they were taking Wednesdays off instead!
