Sandy, Oregon has joined with other cities nationwide in becoming part of the “Main Street Program”; a program designed to promote, organize & design a city’s main street area into a flourishing attraction that benefits businesses, locals, communities & of course property value! I first heard of the program when I recently attended a Chamber of Commerce meeting for Mt. Hood. The Villages of Mt. Hood are looking into participating in the program as well. I was excited to hear that the beautiful stretch of 26 I drive to get to Tyrolean Meadows in Government Camp may one day highlighted with unique new small shops & restaurants in between the beautiful stretches of wilderness.

Before I break in the bad news, know that there is a fantastic 100% financing program still available if you are interested in living in the rural area. Homes in SANDY, Oregon QUALIFY! It’s called the “USDA Rural Housing Program”. Now to the unfortunate news. (more…)
