CALLING ALL GARAGE SALE LOVERS AND ANTIQUE HUNTERS: This weekend, the king of all Portland-area garage sales will be taking place in the city of Maywood Park, located at the intersection of I-84 and I-205 between NE Fremont and NE Skidmore. This annual event should not be missed, and the weather should be absolutely phenomenal. The weekend forecast shows plenty of sunshine and warm temps, perfect weather for treasure hunting in one of the largest city-wide garage sales in the area. Sunday, May 31st, the Oregonian did a fabulous piece in the Home & Rental Section of the Sunday Oregonian. The article was on Interlachen and Fairview Lake and referenced a fantastic listing we have there. They were kind enough to offer us and a few of the other agents with listings on Interlachen a chance to promote an open house timed on the same Sunday the article was released… WHAT A HIT!

I know, Kristie is getting fixated on this whole “stop the new, let’s renew building homes vs. renovating them” thing. Edwin Hesse (an awesome home remodeler) sent me an article from TIME entitled “Greening This Old House” which further discusses renovating existing unwanted homes that are currently sitting on the market.
Street of Dreams morphs into “Condo Show” in the Pearl this year-

One of my FAVEorite clients (thanks Adam!) shared an article with me today (see below) that says the Portland Street of Dreams is going to be a “Condo Show” in the Pearl District of NW Portland this year. What a GREAT idea! The previous Street of Dreams homes have had a very difficult time selling and I’ve wondered how much participating as a builder has really cost the poor guys… building those homes is quite an expensive advertisement if they can’t sell them.
Hmmm. The Street of Dreams, aye?

We visited the Street of Dreams again this year. The homes were amazing of course but the planning of the event as well as the planning of the location of the homes left us a bit baffled. My husband and I both being real estate agents decided to tour on “Realtor Day”, we took our 9 year old daughter making it a family event. We were there before it started and were startled by a line that reminded me of Disneyland in June (more…)
