We’re pleased to introduce Peter Skei, the newest member of the McDonald Group Realtors. Peter brings years of experience as a buyer’s agent in Portland, Oregon, as well as an encyclopedic knowledge of Portland neighborhoods, resources, and special events. I recently sat down with Peter to talk about his love of Portland, his experience in the local Real Estate market, and his ideas about the future with the McDonald Group. Here’s Peter!
Why Oregon? You are a native Portlander, so what is it about the Northwest that has made you stick around and grow as an agent in this area?
I love the quality of life in Portland. Sure, it rains a little, but it is such a livable city. That makes it fun to introduce people who are new to the area to all of great things our city has to offer. We have the coast, the mountains, the desert, the rivers – all at our doorstep. And the food! So many great restaurants: fancy, casual, food carts, private chefs, and farmers’ markets.
Why the McDonald Group? What is it about Kristie and Scott that made you want to be involved?
Kristie & Scott and I have known each other for a number of years, and have always held each other in high regard. When they had the need to grow their team, and I was looking to partner with someone and define my business as a buyer’s agent, it was a natural fit.
What are you excited about in the coming years? Are there any new opportunities that are open to you because of joining the McDonald Group team?
I am looking forward to the synergy that we can create as a team. We will share ideas and perspectives, and in doing so, will naturally strengthen the team even further. I am excited to add some fresh perspective to the team, and gain some fresh perspective and energy myself.
What were you doing before you joined the McDonald Group?
I have been a broker with Coldwell Banker for the past 5 years. As a native Portlander, and with these years under my belt, I know the neighborhoods of Portland extremely well, each with their own unique feel
and identity. I have lived in each of the 4 corners of Portland – SW, NW, NE, and SE, and love them all in different ways.
What are your hobbies/interests?
I love the outdoors, whether it is skiing, camping, trips to the beach, gardening, kayaking, or hiking. Cooking and barbecuing are also things I enjoy. My wife and I love travelling the world.
